Monday Morning Photo - Wisteria Time in Andalucia

How quickly spring comes around after the short winter here in the Sierra Sur de Jaén. After lots of very much needed rain we´re back to the normal cloudless blue.  My garden is shooting incredbily with the moisture and now sunshine. And my beautiful wisteria flowers grandly albeit it short-lived. The big black carpenter bees love it. Each flowering season reminds me of the Botanical Gardens in Malaga and the ´tunnel´ of wisteria that I haven´t yet caught in bloom. I Cordoba Tapas Gastronomic Competition

The winners of the I Concurso de la Tapa Córdoba Gastronomica have been announced this weekend.

After sampling the 20 tapas in the final, a job I wouldn´t have minded, the winners are:

Traditional Tapas - Tosta de Sardina Ahumada con guacamole y confitura de tomate, smoked sardines on toast with guacamole and tomato jam from Restaurante El Churrasco.


Iniviative Tapas - Lubina Asada con emulsión de espinacas y crujiente de jamón y garbanzos con toque de vinagreta de naranja, Baked Sea Bass with Spinach Sauce, Crispy Ham and Chickpeas with a Hint of Orange Vinaigrette from Bodega-Taberna Rafaé.

Ecological Tapas - Bocadito de Cochinillo crujiente confitado, pan, higos y regaliz, Mini Crispy Suckling Pig and Confit Sandwich with figs and liquorice from Restaurante Puerta Sevilla.




Montilla-Moriles Tapas - Salmorejo Amontillado, Salmorejo with Montillado Wine from Restaurante Garum 2.1 Bistronomic Tapas Bar.




The overall winner from the four categories with the highest public votes was the Salmorejo Amontillado made at the Garum 2.1 Bistronomic Tapas Bar.
